We Grow Aces™ is a student-run vertical farming program in Evansville, Indiana. Inside a controlled-environment growing container, we cultivate lettuce, herbs, peppers, tomatoes, and more using a water-based hydroponic system that uses far less water and land than conventional farming. This website is where neighbors, restaurants, schools, and community organizations can learn how the farm works, explore what is growing, request produce, and schedule a visit. Every harvest is tracked in TapSeed, our own growing-management platform, so partners know exactly what is available and when.
We grow fresh leafy greens, herbs, and vegetables inside a controlled-environment container farm. Plants grow in a soil-free hydroponic system where water, nutrients, light, and temperature are managed with precision, so harvests happen year-round regardless of the weather outside. Produce moves from the growing towers to plates in the same community — no long supply chains, no guesswork about where food came from.
We Grow Aces™ serves anyone who wants better access to fresh, locally grown food: campus dining halls, local restaurants, grocery and retail partners, schools and universities, nonprofits, community organizations, event organizers, and individual households. Community partners use our produce to support food-access efforts, and students use the farm as a living laboratory for research, business, and sustainability projects.
The program is designed, planted, harvested, sold, and maintained by a student-led team. Students handle crop planning, growing operations, deliveries, partner relationships, marketing, finance, and the technology that keeps the farm running — including TapSeed, our custom platform for tracking seeds, harvests, and revenue. Faculty mentors and community partners support the work, but the day-to-day operation belongs to the students.
